Discovered in 1922 by two teenagers André David and Henri Dutertre, Pech Merle is a wonderful example of pre-historic cave paintings. Price of entry includes a guided tour of the cave system as well as entry to the museum and cinema. The site includes shops and a snack area.
Pech Merle is around half an hour from the Ancienne Auberge situated near the village of Cabrerets. Why not make a day of it with lunch at one of the local restaurants?
